:: The Jinx

Erik 'Jinx' van Hoof was born on the 21st of January 1973 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

At the age of 11 he already started his passion for computers, programming and everything that has to do with modern technology.

After finishing the Havo and VWO he went to the Technische Hogeschool in Eindhoven where he studied Information Technology and Electronics

In 1996 he joined Axias BV in 's-Hertogenbosch as a Support Engineer for a service management package called MXP.
During this period he learned a lot about Service Management and Helpdesk aswell as Technical and Functional implementation projects.
Very soon after he became a technical implementation consultant. He has done large implementation at respected companies like Johnson and Johnson (US and FR), Heineken (NL), Philips Customer Service (NL) and Danwood (UK).

During these implementations very often the question of how to automate remote field engineers came up.

In 1998 he started a project called FACE (FieldAssist for CE) in which he developped a prototype mobile application for Field Service Engineers.
The responses from the customers where very enthousiastic. This resulted in a special unit with Axias, specialized in building Mobile Applications, focussed on Field Service.
The first product that was released was called 'FieldAssist' and sold in the first year almost a 1000 licenses.

The following years Erik spend his time as Product Manager Mobile Solutions, where he managed a group of up to 7 people busy with product development, support, marketing and sales of the 'FieldAssist Product Suite'.

In 2005 Erik decided to put his knowledge to the test in his own company, focussing on CRM, Helpdesk and Service Management application, build around Microsoft CRM, SharePoint and Biztalk.
